People have always been fascinated by time. They have followed the course of the stars and organized their lives according to the changing seasons. Monumental structures such as the stone circles of Stonehenge served not only as places of worship, but also as observatories and calendars that told people the right time to sow seeds.
Man could only survive in harmony with the rhythm of nature. Since then, technology has been revolutionized, but time has lost none of its fascination. Time and again it has inspired artists to create extraordinary works, like the flowing clocks in Dalí's painting "The Persistence of Memory". Today it seems natural to us to determine every point in time down to the precise second and to plan through every minute of the day. Time has us in its grip and yet we cannot grasp it. Our relationship to time may change, but its myth is of timeless significance.
And this is why we still create unique works of art to this day, as we did thousands of years ago, to pay homage to the: Monuments of time.
